VietCycle collaborates to implement EPR and provide training for informal waste collectors.
Hanoi, August 23th, VietCycle collaborated with Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage to organize a training session aimed at enhancing waste collection skills for the informal workforce. This event was part of the Collection and Recycling Partnership Project, which focuses on implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

The program welcomed several distinguished guests, including Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu Trang from the Solid Waste Management Department, Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment; representatives from the Vietnam Association of Beer, Alcohol, and Beverage; Ms. Ngô Nữ Huyền Trang, Head of External Relations – Environment, Social & Governance, and Corporate Communications at Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam; and Mr. Hoàng Đức Vượng, Chairman of VietCycle. Importantly, the event was attended by 100 informal waste collectors from Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, and Hung Yen.

In response to the global plastic crisis, Suntory PepsiCo has taken the lead in implementing EPR, a significant step towards its sustainable development goals. VietCycle is honored to be a trusted partner in this journey.
Beyond waste collection and recycling, this project aims to bring additional value by raising awareness of the waste collection profession and improving labor safety for the informal sector, which plays a pivotal role in waste collection and sorting.

This training session is a clear reflection of that commitment, providing attendees with valuable insights into waste types, effective sorting methods, and practical skills.
Mr. Đỗ Thái Vương, Deputy Vice President of External Relations and Communications at Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, remarked on the project: “Recognizing the importance of education in changing behaviors, the company promotes waste collection and recycling education programs targeting both the informal workforce and young consumers or students. We believe these training programs will equip people with the knowledge and motivation needed to drive sustainable change in waste management and encourage environmental protection habits.”

Concluding the event, Mr. Hoàng Đức Vượng, Chairman of VietCycle, expressed his gratitude: “With the XanhNét Circular Ecosystem, we are pioneering in supporting and sharing with our 'Green Warriors.' VietCycle is grateful to the regulatory bodies and partners like Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, who continuously join hands for a cleaner, more civilized Vietnam in waste management.”
