Dow Vietnam’s Collaborative Effort for a Sustainable Coastline
On September 28, 2024, the Dow Vietnam Team led a significant environmental initiative, the #PullingOurWeight program in Vung Tau City, in celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day. In a powerful display of community engagement, Dow Vietnam joined forces with the local government, the youth union, and Ba Ria Vung Tau University.

The event saw a remarkable turnout of 210 volunteers, which included 70 Dow employees and their family members, all united for a common cause. Together, they collected a substantial 451kg of assorted waste. This waste comprised plastic waste, tobacco filters, e-waste/batteries, paper, foam, organic waste, and other metal waste. A notable 85 kg of plastic waste was sent to a recycling facility, tobacco filters were exchanged for EPR fees, some organic waste was repurposed for cooking fuel, while the remainder was landfilled.

Loganathan Ravisanker, President of Dow Vietnam, expressed his gratitude for the collective effort, stating, “We are deeply appreciative of the close collaboration with our partners and stakeholders. The commitment, passion, and drive of each individual here today are what propel us towards a more sustainable and inclusive world. Your dedication is not just about ‘pulling our weight’; it’s about elevating our global community towards a brighter, cleaner, and more sustainable future.”
