The tour of Unilever Vietnam and Duy Tan Recycling

On September 21, 2024, the Organizing Committee of the Plastics Circularity Innovation Challenge 2024 successfully organized a tour of Unilever Vietnam and the Duy Tan Recycling Factory. The goal was to help Solutions learn about sustainable development and the recycling process in the most authentic way. The tour also inspired and promoted innovation, aiming towards a circular and prosperous economy.

During the visit to Unilever Vietnam headquarters, the Solutions explored corporate culture and the positive impact of Unilever through presentations from Unilever representatives. Additionally, they were introduced to Unilever's sustainability journey in various aspects: Climate, Nature, Plastics, and Livelihoods. The Solutions also experienced the diverse and creative work environment at Unilever, where each department tells its own story but shares the common goal of building a better society.

The Organizing Committee was especially delighted to be accompanied by more than 200 students from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to a vibrant and energetic morning visit.

In the afternoon, the participants visited the Duy Tan Factory in Long An, where they met sustainability officers to learn about the recycling story of Duy Tan Recycling. The Solutions held recycled products in their hands and witnessed the modern operation process at the factory. Numerous questions from the Solutions demonstrated their strong interest in waste recycling. Beyond technical knowledge, Duy Tan Recycling emphasized raising awareness about the importance and urgency of plastic waste sorting as part of individual responsibility towards society.

At the end of the tour, the Organizing Committee was honored to receive positive feedback from the Solutions. From being overwhelmed by large-scale technology and the unique corporate culture of pioneering corporations, to a sense of pride in the values created by Vietnamese companies, participants expressed many strong emotions. The Organizing Committee was also delighted to accompany the youthful, creative, and promising projects of the Program.
